Levitate Hosted Blogs: Setup and Customization

Don't have a Levitate created website? Still want to post blogs?

Levitate can create a page, using a subdomain of your current website, for the automatic posting of blogs.

What do I need to get set up?

In order for our Support team to get a blog page set up for you, you'll need a few things:

  1. Access to your domain settings— this isn't always where your website is hosted. Our team will need access here to create a new CNAME record to associate the blog page we've created with your existing website. Not sure who hosts your domain? Check here.
  2. Access to your website editor— once the blog page is set up, our team will assist with adding a link to the blog in the navigation of your website. To do so, you will need editing access to your site.
  3. RSS URL for any past blog posts— have you been posting blogs through another platform or directly to your website? We are able to import those previous posts via RSS when getting your blog page set up.

Can you make my hosted blog page look more like my website?

Absolutely! The hosted blog pages start out pretty plain— but our Success and Support teams are able to customize a few pieces of each hosted blog page to better match your site.

  • Header
    • The font in the header can be chosen
    • The color of the font, the background, the hover font color, and the font and background of dropdown menus from the header can be chosen.
    • Menu items can be added to the header to match your site— either the name of the item itself can be linked to another page on your site, or each menu item can have a dropdown with links to multiple pages. If a menu item has a dropdown associated with it, it cannot have its own link.
    • The header will also include your company's logo. The Success or Support team can upload that logo for you and it will show automatically. We auto-size it on our end so it looks its best.
  • Blog Home— aka— the page that shows all blog posts as a menu
    • Background— page background color
    • Font— font used for the name of the blog, the snippet of text from the blog, and the link to access the full blog.
    • Section Title— the title of the page— the default is 'Blogs' but it can be renamed to anything! The color of this title can also be chosen.
    • Individual Post— the title of each individual blog post can be a specific color, so can the link to the full blog post.
    • Header Image— a header image can be uploaded and added to the Blog Home
    • Nook— the title can either be fully under the header on the page, or inserted as an overlay within the header image. If 'Hide Nook' is on, the title will not nest into the header image.
  • Blog Post— the full blog post
    • Background— page background color
    • Title— font for the blog's title
    • Headlines— bolded paragraph separators in the post— font can be chosen
    • Body— the paragraph text of the blog— font can be chosen
    • Show More Button— a button that will show you more blog posts— the color of the button, the color of the button's text, and the color when hovering over the button can be chosen
  • Footer
    • The background color, text color, and link color for the footer can be chosen.
    • Footer text can be added, this is good for disclosures.
    • Links can be added to the footer— you can match up the links in the footer of your main site, be it other site pages or something like a Privacy Policy, here.
    • Copyright Info— enter Your Company Name here.

Getting the font to match

On our end, we can choose a font from Google Fonts, or choose from a list of web default fonts.

  • Web Default Fonts: Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, Trebuchet MS, Times New Roman, Georgia, Garamond, Courier New, Brush Script MT
  • Google Fonts: if you can find it on Google Fonts, we can import it via URL

Getting the color to match

  • Get the HEX code(s) from your website
  • Find the HEX code(s) to use, using a color picker
