Two-Factor Authentication

Why did Levitate add two-factor authentication for logging in?

Passwords alone aren’t enough anymore. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security when logging into Levitate, helping protect your account and personal information. Now, Levitate gives you the option to complete 2FA using your email address, in addition to the existing SMS option.

I already have 2FA turned on for logging into Levitate— does this change anything?

No! If you already have 2FA turned on to log into Levitate you don't have to make any changes. Previously, we did only have text-message 2FA available, so you are able to enable email 2FA if desired!

How do I access 2FA settings in Levitate?

To access your account's 2FA settings, you must be an account Admin.

Click into the menu under your name in the upper right corner and choose Settings

From there, you’ll choose Security

When clicking into Security, there will be a few options

Here, you can update your password and enable 2FA for email and/or text

If you have both options, Email and SMS, enabled you will get the same code to both your designated email address and phone number

For changing the email used in 2FA, the Contact support to change button links directly to the support@levitateapp.com email address.

If the default email address (email used to log in) for 2FA needs to be changed, send an email to our Support team with the email address you would like to receive 2FA codes to. Click the Contact support to change button to be linked directly to the support@levitateapp.com email address.

For phone authentication, and updating a phone number for 2FA, click Configure authenticator

First, you’ll have to verify your Levitate account password

Then, you’ll enter the new number you’d like to use and you’ll receive a code for final verification
