Donation Surveys

Levitate's Donation Survey leverages the platform's integration with Stripe to collect donations and payments. All collected donations through Donation Surveys will automatically populate on the Donation Board.


To collect donations through the Donation Survey, you must be connected to Stripe for payment processing. Read more about how that works here.


How do Donation Surveys work?

Users creating a Donation Survey can set pre-set dollar amounts for giving, as well as allow the donor to manually enter how much they’d like to give. There is also an option to ask donors to cover the fees associated with Stripe payment processing. 


Multiple Donation Surveys can be created. Each Donation Survey allows the user to set an end date for donation collection, such as a campaign tied to a specific event or time frame, or to accept general donations with no end date. 


All Donations will be logged on the Donation Board and in Donation Reporting.


Creating a Donation Survey


To create a Donation Survey, you will first choose Surveys from the left-hand navigation bar on your Levitate dashboard. From there, you'll choose the Donation tab.


You'll then click Creation Donation Survey.

Here, you'll be directed to get the survey set up. You'll add a survey name, a title for the page, and details for your donors. You are also able to associate the donations that come from the completion of this survey with a specific campaign, set an end date for the campaign, and add an image to show on the survey itself.


Under Donor Information, there are options for how certain contact information like birthdate and physical address are collected via the survey.


Finally, Donation Options lets the user add pre-set donation amounts, allow for custom donation amounts, set a minimum donation amount, and even set up a checkbox that allows donors to choose to pay a little extra to offset the fees associated with Stripe payment collection.


Once everything is set, the user will need to choose Save. From there, the survey can be previewed, and the link can be shared via URL or QR code.


Once the link has been shared, donors will be prompted to fill out the survey with their information and choose or type in the amount they are donating. Once they hit Save and Continue at the bottom of the survey, a pop-up will appear, and they can choose to enter a credit card number, e-pay options, or bank information. All payments will be processed through Stripe.

FAQs & FYIs


The donor needs to change or update their payment info, make a dispute, or needs a detailed receipt. Can this be done through Levitate?

No— all transaction and payment related updates must be made through Stripe. Levitate facilitates the donation and keeps records of each donation, but does not house payment method related details.


My donors are not seeing their preferred e-pay option— how can I add that in?

If a donor wants to pay through ACH, or another e-pay option that's not being show, you'll need to configure Stripe to accept those types of payments. To enable or disable certain payment methods, click here to be directed to the Stripe payment dashboard. The linked article will give information on each type of e-pay method and a link to configure the ability to accept them! Levitate does not play a role in which e-pay options show.
