Leads + Lead Parsers

A lead parser is a tool designed to extract, process, and organize contact information from inbound leads in the form of emails via web form submissions into a structured format that can be used to create contacts in Levitate. Levitate has three different types of lead parser— integrated lead services, custom lead parsers, and AI lead parsers.

Integrated Lead Services + Levitate

Levitate offers a number of lead service integrations– when enabled, the lead parser will scan your connected email inbox to check for new submissions to these forms and services, and pull those submissions in as a new contact to Levitate.

How do I set these up?

To set up a lead parser with one of the above lead services, you can reach out to your Success Specialist for assistance in getting it enabled.

Once enabled, if you’re an Admin user on the account, you’ll be able to manage how each new contact created by the parser is tagged. To access the settings for the lead parser, go to the dashboard of your Levitate account, access the dropdown menu under your name in the upper right, and choose Integrations

Have a web form on your website? Not seeing a lead source you use? Levitate also offers Custom Lead Parsers and AI Lead Parsers.

Custom Lead Parsers

These work best with website and contact submission forms that have uniform, set fields for the name, email address, and other contact information for the contact being created through the submission.

For a custom lead parser to work correctly, a few things have to be set up correctly:

Sender’s Email Address: this is the email address that sends you the submission information from your lead or website submission form

Email Subject Line: this is the subject line from the email that you receive with the submission information from your lead or website submission form

Levitate seeks out the unique combination of the sender’s email address and the email subject line to determine which emails in your inbox to pull contact information from for new contact creation.

Here’s an example of the data required to get a Custom Lead Parser up and running–

The Integration Name is how the lead parser will show when checking your integration settings, the tag is a tag that will be automatically added to each contact pulled in by the lead parser.

What can you pull in using a Custom Lead Parser?

Name, email address, phone number, address data, tags, key facts, and birthdays.

AI Lead Parsers

We added the ability to use an AI Lead Parser in order to leverage less organized contact submission forms, and even other notices like payments from systems like PayPal. The AI is used to parse the whole email and pick up on the name and email address that can be pulled into Levitate for contact creation without the hassle of sticking to the standard layout for form submissions. Similar to Custom Lead Parsers, the Sender’s Email Address and the Email Subject Line must be provided in order for the form submission emails to be parsed by Levitate.

FAQs

How does ownership work for leads pulled into Levitate through a lead parser?

By default, the contact ownership for Lead Parser is assigned to whoever gets the email in their inbox. This means the Levitate user who receives the lead submission form email becomes the contact owner automatically.

Can a lead parser work if multiple users receive the same submission emails?

No, you’ll want to avoid sending the same lead parsing email to multiple Levitate users - this can create duplicates and ownership confusion

How will I know if a contact has been created from a lead parser?

Each contact that is pulled in through a lead parser will have a note on their contact profile timeline with their original submission data that was pulled in from the parser, as well as the name of the parser that they were pulled in through.

Can I make it so one user is the owner of all leads that pull through?

If a contact isn’t the recipient of the lead submission email, Levitate does have a way to route ownership all to one contact. Contact your Success Specialist or our Support team to get this set up.
