Merging by resource ID versus email address

Historically, Levitate has always merged contacts by email address. However, there are many situations in which not merging by email address can be useful.

As we move forward with new integrations, we're hoping to move from merging by email addresses to merging by resource IDs from the source system that the contacts are being pulled from. A resource ID could be anything from a policy number, to case number, or donor number.

How can I have my contacts merge by resource ID instead of email?

If you'd like for your contacts to be merged by resource ID, and not email address, you can reach out to your Success Specialist or a member of our Support team.

When making this change, keep in mind that it's a 'one way' feature. Once we've switched from merging by email address to merging by resource ID, we cannot switch back to merging by email address.
